It may not be hard to believe (because I fell in love with a man after just 6 weeks and with TV cameras following our every move 😜) but I just fell so in love with a remote that I could kiss it!! It’s called Caavo and it’s a universal remote and Control Center that took the place of four different remotes in our house! From here on out, I don’t have to show guests or sitters which remotes to use for what and can simply hand them this sleek little guy!! Plus, it’s voice controlled, works through our Google Home unit (and can do the same through Alexa), is super family friendly, and even has a find my remote feature when my mommy brain gets the best of me! Gotta love simplicity in our crazy house! Get 30% off your own with code TRISTA at www.Caavo.com!

On Sunday, the woman we know and love as Gramma Zanna or Zan or Rosie or Zanny or Roseanne or (my personal favorite) Mom, celebrated her 73rd birthday. 73 years. A long, beautiful life that continues to evolve and grow and find the happiest path, and for that, I am immensely grateful. She fills our life with joy, love and laughter and my only wish is that she would receive that joy and love and laughter back in spades. Thank you Momma for being you and for loving me. Happy birthday @zanrehn!!! 🎈
“Marry your best friend. I do not say that lightly. Really, truly find the strongest, happiest friendship in the person you fall in love with. Someone who speaks highly of you. Someone you can laugh with. The kind of laughs that make your belly ache, and your nose snort. The embarrassing, earnest, healing kind of laughs. Wit is important. Life is too short not to love someone who lets you be a fool with them. Make sure they are somebody who lets you cry, too. Despair will come. Find someone that you want to be there with you through those times.” -N'tima Preusser
In the day to day grind as a stay-at-home (and work) mom, teaching moments are abundant whether they are about responsibility, punctuality, respect, manners, relationships, self-care, or all the other uber important things parents are expected to teach the next generation. They blend in to getting to school on time, their words and tone, brushing their teeth and even just watching a movie as a family. It is the best job in the world and the greatest honor of my life, but I’m not gonna lie...it’s draining (well, maybe not the movie part!)! So, when a teaching moment is wrapped up in a fun and exciting package with lights, cameras, and a beautiful runway as the bow on top, you grab at the chance to infuse it into your kiddos way of thinking...or at least I do with my stage-loving baby girl (and even my camera shy baby boy...yes, i know they aren’t babies!). Last night was one of those moments and thanks to @efec_org, it’s been one of my favorites for the past 5 years. I’ve been part of their annual Project Funway show for 6 years and been able to share it with Blakesley for 5, walking away from each experience not only opening up a conversation about creativity and community, but about philanthropy and giving back. It’s a concept at the core of who I want my kids to grow up to be...adults focused on the Golden Rule. Adults focused on giving of yourselves whenever and however you can. Adults focused on generosity and kindness as opposed to greed and selfishness. Last night was fun and exciting but it was so much more than that, and I’m thankful to be able to share it with everyone in the Vail Valley...especially this sweet 9 year old beauty. 💯👩👧🎤❤️

If only the morning rush in our house were as calm and peaceful as this sleeping beauty baby 5 years ago. 💆🏼♀️ Instead, hurricane Trista runs back and forth between kitchen, bedrooms, backpacks, and bathrooms to gently nudge our mini me’s from their sweet dreams and then start the struggle. And, as a non-morning person, that’s exactly what it is. 🤪 They don’t look up at me wide-eyed and super happy to see me like they used to in their cribs and they most definitely don’t jump out of bed ready to conquer the day. (Those days are long gone unless they involve jumping on a plane for a faraway adventure...or doughnuts 🍩 ). They have to be asked at least 5 times to eat their breakfast and get dressed while I zoom around trying not to stress (“Trying” being the key word there) about making breakfasts and lunches, filling water bottles and snack bags, brushing teeth and hair, getting them vitamins and signed permission slips and everything else they need to set the stage for a great day at school (and yes...for those who are going to write and tell me how to do it better, we get as much sleep as we can with our schedules and I do as much as I can the night before. Some nights, though, I just want to go to bed 💯). The business of being a parent is no joke, even if you love your kids as much as I do. So, to all you moms and dads out there, dealing with increased cortisol levels every morning (noon, and night), look back at the sweet pictures of your kiddos like I am this morning, and remember those days of peace. Know that one day they’ll get it and thank you for it and shower that same love and dedication on your grand babies before they go off to work crushing the career game because they were so well-prepared for school. 🤞🏼Or, at least, we can hope!

This view. It may look like just a group of kids and coaches at an ice rink to most, but it’s what gets me out of bed at 6:30 am on a Sunday. It’s what helps me put a rough couple weeks in the past and move forward with a smile on my face and not because I like to be cold (NOT AT ALL) or I love Vail (even though I do!). If you’re a parent and you’ve been lucky enough to see your child come to life when they find something they love, you do whatever it takes to encourage and support and sacrifice. You get out of your warm and cozy bed and put your big girl pants on and even drink caffeine so you can be there to scream your head off and see their soul shine. You bundle up and suck it up and deal with the stink (the struggle is REAL! 😖) because you want to be part of the magic. And it is magic. Pure, beautiful magic that makes this life worth living and makes this journey called parenthood, worth it...even if it’s just for a few hours each week.
I’ll take it. 💯🏒❤️

This little guy may very well turn me into a cat person. 🤯Well, not over being a dog person and I’m allergic to all of them, but still. I mean...can you handle the cuteness?! I just couldn’t stop taking pictures and Blakesley would’ve slept in our friends closet just to be with him! Be ready for lots of Sutter love in your future, Buster. 😻

17 years ago, I walked out of a limo and into reality TV to eventually meet the handsome #ClarkKent look-alike next to me. 🤯 The rest of this crew couldn’t even legally enter a bar without a fake ID...and yet we all ended up in the same studio recently, laughing and chatting about this crazy cool world we live in. Not sure how I got this life, but I am not mad about it. 💯
Thank you @kelliepickler and @benaarontv for being such kind, engaging hosts (and not spraying champagne all over us). And, to one of my favorite #BachelorNation couples, @carlywad and @theebass, thank you for being sincerely sweet and not making me feel like the dinosaur I know that I am (but will you please bring Bella next time so I can see her adorableness in person?! 🙏🏼)
And to everyone at @picklerandben, thanks for the fun excuse to getaway to Nashville for a few days!
If you missed today’s episode, check it out on their website next week at www.picklerandben.com/fullepisodes. Great peeps. Great show! ❤️📺❤️
