  • Cooper's materials, we think are all really warming colours and textures. In the sunshine he really does invite you in ☺️ luckily his interior is still beautifully inviting on typical Scottish days ☺️🚙.

  • Another shot, this time from the back lookong in. Love the yellow in this van. Really made the interior pop. Was afraid it would be too much, until we hung them and it suddenly all brings it together.

  • I live in a van. For the next 3-4 months I’ll be living in this van on the west coast doing weird stuff 🤪

Took me about a month to do the whole van build. For the entire month of January, I would just wake up and just go work on it for as long as I could and I only made about 20 trips to my local Menards 😂. The van didn’t come with any windows so I actually had to install those by myself! I still need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby for some home décor though haha!... I put 200 watts of solar panels on the roof So I have power to charge stuff like camera batteries and laptop and power my coffee maker but I also have enough power to run a TV and play Fortnite hehe.
Swipe right for progress pictures.
I’ll probably look back at what I’m doing right now when I’m older and think it was weird, but I know I won’t regret it :) but I suppose every time I have shown an older adult my van they have all said it’s good to travel while you’re young cause when you’re old you just won’t do it!
I know I’m very fortunate to be able to do this and I just want to thank everyone that has thought my artwork was good enough to hire me and made it possible for me to do this stuff :) If anyone comes to the west coast and wants to hangout, hit me up! 😊

  • Here is a shot of the back. Showing the cupboard/storage area and the table out. Made a nice plate/bowl/mug organise to keep everything securly stored and easy to get. The bed extension slats are stored on one shelf too. And the table we have found works really well. It slides out on drawer runners, and then can fold out double for extra area. You can also see a bit more of the rope detail I used on this van for edging/trim along joins. Really liked that detail.

  • The full winter setup!
.
The hanging guest bed is working great so far, apparently it’s really cosy up there as the hot air from the heater rises up to the roof.
.
Could you fit an extra person in your van and if so, who would you take on a winter ski trip?

  • Nearly all done. This is how the mattress fits in for driving. It can flip up to make a sofa. The headroom is better than the old rock and roll bed I had in there but not perfect (my head touches the roof). The drawer is on heavy duty draw slides and I’ve added a pull handle and a light inside. I thought it was sensible to add a fire extinguisher too; this little one fits in well at the back and wasn’t too expensive. More photos to come! 📸

  • An interior view into our #sprintervanconversion and only a month into full-time #vanlife living Tj’s highlights have been the induction stove, the diesel heater, and the (almost) king size bed. While not part of the build, MVP goes to the small, storable espresso maker for early mornings at the dropzone. If you could pick your MVP in your #vanbuild, what would it be?

  • A little over 3.5 years ago, my family of 5 decided to load up and follow our dream, of living on the opposite coast of what we had always known!!! We moved from Atlanta GA to Portland OR, just because we wanted to! That cross country trip sparked something in us, and now our van makes it possible to have those epic road trips again and again!!

  • I didn’t post on my feed for a whole week.
Maybe it was because we were just hanging around in town and only doing the kind of things that would be boring to read about...
::
But then I realized, if we are going to be real and honest we have to talk about all parts of our life, not just when we are flying or driving somewhere exciting
::
So here’s the news with us! Michelle got her dream job (seriously so proud of her and it is such a blessing), we are moving to Asheville (we've never been there and couldn't be more excited), we don’t know what’s going to happen with the van (we'll be real sad to see Wanda go). This level of uncertainty is pretty normal for us so we've just so we've just been living at coffee shops and trying to figure it all out!
::
Today we flew DC to do a little shoot for our favorite boot brand and are excited to fill you in on the details! :)
We are sharing all about it on our story, so make sure and follow along!

  • It’s Kimbie’s birthday in two days! A big birthday, but as a gentleman, I won’t reveal a woman’s age. Plus she looks like she’s twenty something, the same as when we first met. Even though she has been through such heartbreak, there remains a hopefulness about her. She still finds pieces of joy everyday. It is a credit to her unbelievable strength and faith.

She made a new rule last night that there are no more counting birthdays, because we should make everyday count.
As you wish my queen. - Kevin

  • One more step of the van build up and running!! Solar system installed and in the "test" phase. Battery disconnect and 30amp breaker/fuse still needs to be installed, but wanted to make sure the foundation of the system was good to go....aka, I ran out of time tonight!!! lol
We have 320w of solar, 150ah of LiFePO4 battery, 100v/30amp solar charge controller and a fuse block. We're keeping everything on 12v and not using an inverter. Still trying to decide if shore power is a necessity or not. We'll see....

  • #day8 of our #vanconversion
#sounddeadening is finally done, wood floor slats secured with existing tie down bolts and a few self tapping screws where there were no bolts.
#vaninsulation on the floor is pretty much done, a few pieces around the edges to finish once we’re done running the propane lines.
#nellie is coming along nicely!
