Happy weekend guys! What do you all have planned? Whether it’s unwinding and enjoying some chill time or dancing the night away, hope it’s beautiful! 💋 I made this passion and blueberry tart the other day because the blueberries are incredible at the moment here, but you could make the basic recipe and add whatever fruit you like instead. I’ll leave the recipe below:
1 cup cashews
1 cup dates pitted and softened
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/3 cup toasted buckwheat (optional)
Pinch of sea salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In your food processor combine your cashews and coconut and pulse until you have a fine powder. Add your dates, coconut oil, vanilla and salt and process again to break down. Add your buckwheat and pulse until you have a sticky dough. Press this into your spring form tin and freeze as your prepare the filling.
1 cup cashews soaked for four hours in hot water then rinsed and drained
1 cup coconut mylk
4 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fruit of five passion fruit
1 cup blueberries
Blend everything EXCEPT THE FRUIT in a high speed blender until creamy, pour over your base and freeze 20 minutes. Swirl your passionfruit into the filling and texture to freezer for at least 4 hours. Allow to defrost for 30 minutes before serving with lots of fresh blueberries. #cake#rawcake#dessert#darlingweekend#treat#birthdaycake#cheesecake#lovefood#plantbased#plantstrong#healthychoices#postworkout#treatyoself#foodpics#eatclean#dessertforbreakfast#picoftheday#rawvegan#vegansofig#kaylaitsines#beautifulcuisines#birthdaycake#thefitfabfoodie

• • • • • @thefitnesschef_ - According to the oxford dictionary, sustainability (noun) is: The ability to maintain a certain rate or level. When applying this concept to one’s fat loss journey, sustainability is the main critical element to maintaining adherence to a calorie deficit over time.
There are many of dietary modes and strategies which enable a calorie deficit, but the only one worth considering is the one that somebody will consistently adhere to for long periods of time.
Enjoyment, pragmatism and awareness must be considered if such longevity is to be achieved. 1. Regular inclusion of enjoyed foods and realization that enjoyment increases likelihood of continuing a process/journey. 2. Pragmatic realization that enjoyed foods may be over-consumed if restricted. 3. Awareness that regular inclusion of enjoyed foods can facilitate a supportive overall calorie target over a period of time. By the same token, awareness that exclusion of enjoyed foods creates an uninspiring, rigid dieting mentality.
With physical or mental change it is what one does over a period of time that counts. Inflicting harsh, restrictive eating terms in desperation of ‘being good’ and punishing oneself for previously ‘being bad’ is both useless and unhelpful.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. And when absence ends, the heart pours. This also applies to consumption of food. But in contrast, regular inclusion of enjoyed foods increases enjoyment - and the calmness of the heart. A ‘move on’ mentality after consuming moderated portions of non optimal foods can spur one on to trust a simple, effective, enjoyable process that achieves results
Physical change does not answer to useless, rigid beliefs which warp food relationships. It answers to science. At many junctions in our lives, pragmatic flexibility allows us to rid ourselves of dogmatic hindrances. Then, we can adapt and evolve to enable continued progression of our journey. 🔥
