Hey everyone! @artezaofficial has kindly sent me their gouache set along with their dual-sided water color pad and asked me to share my honest opinion about these products. Here is my very honest opinion in short: I really enjoyed using them! My main source of medium is gouache and I have tested many cheaper brands in the past, so I was positively surprised by their quality! Arteza is definitely way better than any student quality gouache, yet it is affordable!
Some colors are more opaque than others but it is normal. I had a very good control of the colors when diluting with water or when mixing them. They are blending very well and they have a perfect matte finish, which is usually not the case with other affordable brands. Their drying speed is just perfect for me, not as fast as for example Acryla gouache and not as slow as other expensive gouache products. Be aware that I am not painting several layers on top of each other; if you do, you may have a different opinion.
Another important aspect for me was that you can rewet the colors the next day and their consistency is still the same! When using other affordable brands, I was often annoyed that they became watercolor-like after reweting. After using Acryla gouache for so long (it is not possible to rewet them), I realised how this function makes gouache much more enjoyable!
The colors are well pigmented and vibrant! I will definitely continue using them! If you want to give gouache a try, do not want to spend too much money but still have good quality, Arteza will be a good choice to start with!
Finally, beware that the colors as printed on the packaging & the actual colors in the tube are not identical! I recommend making a color chart to not get confused!
I will review the paper in my next post with Arteza. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! 🤗
I've recently rediscovered my love for fluid painting. I haven't done any for almost a year, but I still have the canvases in my apartment and the photos on my hard drive and decided it was time to do something with them! 🖼️
I've always marveled (pun intended 😁) about these marbled beauties on dresses or pillows and thought of ways to make seamless patterns from them. I have found different ways after a lot of puzzling and will show them to you over the course of the next few weeks.
I'm still wondering how they will be received... I just know that when I first saw an acrylic pour painting, I gaped in awe for what seemed like half an hour!
So here goes my first print from my painting "gold digger" - products are already available on #redbubble and I will also add the pattern to #spoonflower soon.
Tell me what you think!
I spent yesterday on a mock jury and found the whole day so fascinating. Our feelings on each side of the case were being analyzed and when we broke into small groups, our discussions were being recorded and viewed from another room. This got me thinking of alternate career paths...if you could pick any other career, what would it be? I’m thinking jury profiler would be on my list.
Back to coffee and my real job, which I love the most!
