I lost my heart in Germany ♥. Heidelberg to be precise.
.
.
(edit because I just looked back and had written "I lost my HEIGHT in Germany" which doesn't make any sense because I actually ended up gaining height, not losing it, walking up this hill) 🚶
.
.
I digress. So Instagram really grinds my gears sometimes. When I share pics of various European cities, I achieve slow but steady growth 👆 👆. When I switch it up and start posting countryside photos of our mountain hikes I get that dreaded unfollow unfollow unfollow. Is the countryside really so bad to look at?! Or are my photos just not doing it justice 🎨
.
.
Does anyone else experience this kind of obvious growth/ungrowth depending on what kinda stuff they post about❓

„Asked to name their favorite destination in Germany, visitors from abroad consistently choose Heidelberg Castle. And no fewer than 11.8 million people come to Heidelberg every year, drawn by the historical flair of this university city, with its stunning setting, wide range of activities, superb shopping, and restaurants to meet every taste. It is a dynamic city that is constantly developing – in terms of architecture, business activities and ideas.“

  • Where are you in the world this Sunday morning? Comment below! Now.. do you fancy joining my wibbly wobbly wonky cottage club? We meet every month and basically visit tumblin' down historic cottages, eat piles of scones, then take long naps.
.
It would be hard to top lovely Lavenham which has been called “the finest medieval town in England”. Set in the heart of rural Suffolk, and less than two hours from London, Lavenham is the perfect destination and a gateway to East Anglian towns, villages and the surrounding countryside. One lovely little fact about this place - "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" was written in Lavenham. The words were penned by the then 23 year old poet Jane Taylor, taken from her poem for children The Star. The piece was written in 1806 at her residence in Shilling Street, and was part of a collection Rhymes for the Nursery which she co-authored with her sister Ann.
.
Believe it or not, in 1487 Henry VII visited the village and is recorded as having fined the De Vere family for showing too much wealth in his presence! Cheeky sod. Oh.. and in 2010, under conditions of strict secrecy, scenes from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2 were filmed in Lavenham as this is the birthplace of both Harry Potter and his wizarding mentor and headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.
.
Have a wonderful Sunday! The sun is just popping out and the daffodils are in full daft, so all is good with the world. Exclusive photo edit by @photosofbritain/Martin Pettitt 🇬🇧 Want your Photos of Britain to be featured? Follow and tag us in the picture too..'Ta! 🇬🇧

  • Having a little chat whilst perched on Daddy’s knee. I love my family adventure walks photo session. I gives families time to spend together away from the hustle and bustle but also digital distractions. It’s a time to talk and have fun together. Adventure walk photo sessions are very relaxed and usually take place on location in the Suffolk countryside. It’s a time for children to run free and enjoy the beautiful places we have.

  • I have the great privelage of being able to look after the feet of the Suffolk Punch horses at Chalkhouse Green Farm.

This is Alfred. Like many of his breed he has small feet in proportion to his build so I shoe him with straight bar shoes in front and lots of support.

This is a breed that has been in real danger of disappearing but thanks to the hard work of many dedicated people we are beginning to see more of these majestic horses.
