  • So ... my eleven year old went to the book store with her grandmother today & this is the book she came home with! 😳 She not only got the book, she came up with a company idea, set sales goals, created a complete sales funnel, came up with a list of potential customers, and also came up with what she plans on doing with her money. Some will go back into the business, some will go to charity, some will go to savings and some will go into the pocket of her Kate Spade purse. 🤣. I can’t even make this shit up! I’m 44 and she is light years ahead of me!!!! This kid will one day run this world! 😜 She amazes me ... and makes me SO proud! 💗 #GirlMom #MomLife #Entrepreneur #Youngentrepreneur #BusinessPlan #MyLife #MyHappy #ProudMom #DebYo #DebNanigans #Monday #OwnYourLife #MakeaPlan #StartYoung

  • Reminiscing our great weekend at the @artofthecowgirl event. Honestly, the colt starting was my personal favorites session, (and one of the few I actually got to watch while chasing after 3 little colts and 1 little filly😜). My folks gave me my first 2 year old when I was 11. It opened up a whole new world to riding and learning than I ever could imagine and it changed my life forever. My dad hooked me up with a few great hands who really made a huge impact in the way I thought about the relationship between the horse and human. Larry Mahan and an old cowboy named “Cotton” Day probably had the most impact. Larry taught me a few trains of thought that came from Ray Hunt.. So I really enjoyed watching @Reata and the great brother/sister duo and Lee Smith. I am so glad my kids got to see their methods in action as well! I’m looking forward to seeing what they have in store next year! . . . #coltstarting #horsemanship #horses #ride #rayhunt #buckbrennaman #greatful #alwayslearning #startyoung

  • At what age should your kids start a skincare routine? Its a common question - Lots of people wait to take care of their skin until a problem shows up—that’s not the best approach. The earlier in life you make skincare a habit the better. Not only are you developing good skincare and sun protection habits, your are being proactive about aging vs trying to fix damage that has already been done later in life. So when’s a good age to start??? Sebum production starts between the ages of 9 and 10. I recommend a cleanser, moisturizer with spf and exfoliant once a week; as soon as you start to see signs of skin changes such as sallow dry skin, bumps or clogged pores. Dirt, grime and bacteria can do damage to young skin quickly. Just like learning to brush your teeth, a proper skin care routine is learned. It can take a while to get into a routine of washing your face every day. I recommend starting before trouble starts and before the introduction of make up. This way they will already have developed good skincare habits. When choosing a skincare line for your kids make sure it isn’t full of harsh surfactants and chemicals. Choose a green line that will gently and naturally work with their skin to balance and cleanse not strip the skin. My favorite line is @eminenceorganics #eminenceorganics #eminence #eminenceorganicskincare #skin_by_melissa #thepuresalonspa #thepuresalonspamv #skincareroutine #skincareritual #skincarehabits #startyoung #spf #routine #skingoals #dailyskincare #washyourface #pnwskin #spamagazine #dayspamagazine #skininc

  • Every year Po Leung Kuk invites students from schools across Hong Kong to participate in an International Art and Design contest. The theme this year was about raising public awareness on the condition of coral reefs across the globe, as declared by United Nations. We built this project together with our little friend Shayan (curiously looking inside the box) as his entry for the contest. Not only did we enjoy making it but the research involved taught us a lot about the adverse impact of climate change on coral reefs and how and why is it important to protect them. The box is divided into two parts. One side shows what a healthy reef looks like while the other side shows a bleached reef. Made mostly using recycled materials. Coral bleaching is when the reefs turn white due to rise in ocean temperature. Its temperature rises due to absorbing excess carbon dioxide present in air which is a consequence of burning large amounts of oil, coal, gas.

  • My daughter's expanding vocabulary is accompanied by restless toddler energy. . . . Teddy Bear's Fun to Learn - First 1000 Words by Nicola Baxter and Susie Lacome is a great way to keep my 2.5 year old engaged for decent lengths of time. . . . It's super educational and well illustrated so that she can easily identify everyday objects and name them. Here you'll find her trying to eat stuff off the pages. . . . How do you keep your toddler engaged for a whole 15 minutes?
