I had a lucky escape missing first breakfast this morning, Fire managed half a bowl of weetabix before the rest ended up on the floor. While he munched on a snack of apple, Snap enjoyed sourdough slices and some stewed apple. He loved the bread but found the apple the wrong consistency to eat, too soft to bite and chew meant a lot of coughing trying to manage the larger pieces #firsttastes#babyledweaning#sourdough#applefail#sleptthroughit
My new year began the same as the old one ended—with @basilbabe and I hauling furniture all over the house. That’s because this year will find Norah moving into the larger guest room across the hall, our office moving upstairs into what once was the nursery, and the old office space downstairs converted into a dedicated playroom so we have space for all these Christmas presents!
If you’ve found yourself in the same dilemma, you know how exhausting a home reshuffle can be. So on NYE 2018, I was absolutely exhausted and totally asleep by 10:30pm. I’m not even ashamed to admit it.
But I did find some time to consider resolutions for 2019. I won’t lie—I missed the mark on 99% of the resolutions I made last year. In fact, I didn’t even come close! So I’ve decided to just roll them over into this year. I can do that, right? If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again?
That being said, 2018 was a whirlwind. Highs. Lows. Just like all of you. Several of my favorite highlights don’t appear here in my Top 9, because to be honest, sharing and posting just haven’t been a priority for me this year. I do hope to share more regularly in the new year, but meanwhile, here are the highlights you seemed to like the most in 2018.
All the best—health, happiness, and the whole lot—to all of you in the new year!
First time I have seen several flocks flying south. Happened today over the course of an hour.
It was so amazing! 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆
Oh by the way, I slept right through the earthquake this morning 🤦🏽♀️

EARTHQUAKE! We have survived the ordeal! Thoughts and prayers. Oh, wait. I slept through it, as did the semi-normal peasants. Food Lady was already awake. She was reading. Thought Jem was jumping on the bed. He opened one eye, gave her the "wasn't me" look, and went back to sleep.
Also, Food Lady has decided not to move to California because that little thing was creepy and she has no desire to feel the real thing. .
