Every day you accomplish something, you just have to look. Some days you have to look harder, but it's there. Maybe you needed a day off to reconnect with yourself. Maybe you read a chapter of a book. Maybe you crushed it at work today. Celebrate the big wins AND the tiny. Be thankful that you are beautiful in all that you are. AND then...regroup, clean up weak areas, double down on strengths, and get back out there. You got this. 💫 #progressnotperfection#worksmarter

PROGRESS :: be a Turtle! 🐢 .
In all of these photos I’ve made progress. The first on the left I had already lost about 30 lbs to get out of the 400s. The second picture I’d lost enough to get out of the 300s. And in the last photo I’m hovering about 11 lbs away from reaching my -200 lbs lost goal and about 14 from getting out of the 200s. 🤨
In all honesty you have no idea how much I want to share I’ve just hit -190 lost! BUT I’M A f*cking turtle!!!
And the truth is I’m perfectly fine with that. I’m on no ones clock but my own and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in every single area!! But I do not and will not compare myself, my path or my progress to anyone else.
Instead of comparing and wondering why you aren’t where so-and-so is: or how in the world someone else lost X doing Y and you’re not seeing the same results: or why It’s working for ABC and not you, stop looking everywhere else for your own measure of progress!
Step on the scale.
Take the measurements.
Take the photos.
but also do these vital self-checks:
-how are you feeling physically?
-how are you feeling mentally?
-how are you feeling spiritually?
-do you feel less stressful?
-do you have more energy?
-are you complaining less?
-are you cutting down on the negative self-talk?
-are you laughing more?
-are you participating in life more?
-are you moving more?
-are you open to change more?
-are your binges/skipping meals less often?
-are you drinking more water?
-are you eating more mindfully?
-are you experiencing less brain fog?
-are you finding yourself actually enjoying moments in your one-and-only-life?
These are so many other measure of progress are the ones that matter and they don’t all happen overnight. It takes time, and effort and consistency to make progress but it is possible for all of us: it is possible for YOU!!!
You need only choose it and then act to make it happen. 💛

Finally found the perfect solution to all those blinding headlights! Hats! I was able to pull the brim down and block out the blinding lights. •

So this morning I woke up and began to get ready to workout ... but as I started to put on my sneakers I noticed on one shoe the laces were pulled so tight I could barely loosen them ... they were not like that yesterday, anyways getting frustrated I said to my husband “did something happen to me shoe” he responded, “yes, I vacuumed it up when I was vacuuming .... yes you heard correctly, my husband vacuumed but that’s not the point. Um why didn’t you move the shoe? I did with the vacuum cleaner... and then the shoe lace got stuck, but that’s not the point!
🐍King Cobra Pose tutorial... Enjoy!!😘👉@yogaalignment with @robinmartinyoga
King Cobra 🐍♥️ If this is a pose you’re working on and are seeking a foot to head connection (or something in the vicinity), then hopefully these tips will be useful. The full expression of this pose eluded me for a long time - mostly because I was trying to push or muscle myself into it. I learned over time that breath, softening and ‘meeting in the middle’ (bring my feet to my head as much as bringing my head to my feet) helped tremendously. Practicing frontal hip openers and preparing the spine for backbending, also key. This pose requires a big hamstring contraction. It’s that contraction that brings the feet to meet the head. This is where the strap comes in. The strap assists the hamstrings by bringing the feet towards the head. I place the strap under my hands and can shorten or lengthen it for as much or little tension on my legs as I choose. I’m still lifting and opening through the front body. Oh! And it feels really good, too. ♥️ Wearing all white in @aloyoga ♥️ 📸 by @bonnieenglund 😘
Is transformation Thursday a thing? No? Well I’m gonna make it one! I’m amazed at what consistency and hard work can do. 4 months between these pictures. I’m so in love with where this journey is taking me 💕
>> would you check out that beard?! 🧔🏼 my entire life, my daddy always had a beard, until the last round of chemo.. 🥺 but now, the beard is back along with my upbeat, doing things he’s never done, daddy! 💞<<
• cancer lost this battle && my daddy hasn’t stopped moving since.. he’s wanting to go to new places, meet new people, && do things he’s always wanted to do but never did.. so, I asked him “is this your bucket list?” 🛢 he said “no, I’ve done made it past that.. I’ve been through my near death experience.. now I’m just going to do everything I’ve always wanted to do && celebrate my life!” y’all.. 😭😭😭•
[ why is it we always wait until that experience before we decide to celebrate our lives?! why is it we don’t think about our own happiness until it is nearly ripped away from us?! why do we feel selfish to take time for ourselves until we feel there is no time left?! why do we wait for that near death experience?! 🤷🏼♀️]
>> it’s because it is scary.. it’s scary to change the path of your life, your routine, your priorities, && especially your attitude.. but life is scary whether your living the life where you are stuck or living the life you really freaking love!! so why don’t you stop being scared, stop being stuck, stop holding yourself back && start living a life you are obsessed with!! if my daddy can do it, so can you babe! 💗<<
..don’t know where to start, drop your favorite emoji, slide into my dms, or email me (link on my page).. I can’t wait to hear from you babe! 😘.
This evening was a tough one for me. I made a batch of chocolate chip doughettes from the #28dayjumpstart guide. Ended up eating all of it... however I'm trying to be kinder to myself and recognize that prior to becoming a #fitgirl , that sort of binge would've been way worse. I still logged those calories and I wasn't even too far over my total goal for the day.
There is not a day that goes by that I don’t question everything I am doing. I constantly think of ways that I could be better, faster, and stronger. I don’t give myself credit because I have not yet reached the goals that I have planned, but this was a surprise when I put this outfit on this morning. I haven’t be able to wear this in a while. A small and simple goal that reminds me that everything I do is worth it 🖤 #progressnotperfection#smallvictories#nodaysoff#ittakestimeanddedication
The fact that I did two double workouts this week with #transform20 and #Zumba is insane to me. Rewind two years ago and I didn’t workout once a week let alone twice in one day. Zumba has been a fun post-work stress reliever and that’s just another #nsv for the books 💃🏼👌🏻
Treadmill one day, outdoors the next. It’s taken a lot of mental strength and flexibility to embrace the workouts yo-yo’ing back and forth each day...but I’m thankful I have the mill conveniently in my basement to make those last minute adjustments. I actually used to run exclusively on the mill all winter long. Crazy 😜 right? Then I started to invest in the appropriate winter apparel to make outdoor runs enjoyable. Now I live for the fresh outdoor weather all year round. Reflecting on the past is one of the best ways to realize progress. I also used to think 15 miles a week was a LOT. I’m accomplishing that in 2-3 runs a week. Reflecting lately...random thoughts. What are some of your past reflections and running progress? #progressnotperfection#reflections#treadmill#treadmillrunning#mnwinterrunning#indoorrunning#runninggoals#strongrunner#picklesandleather

It’s a booty dayyy🍑
Hip thrusts aren’t my favorite, but they really help build the glutes sooooo they get done anyway...and i put them first so i can give It my all and not back out on them.
Hip thrusts, stiff leg dumbbell deadlifts, reverse lunges, glute kickbacks superset with hip abductions & finished off with some sumo deadlifts.

I took this picture yesterday, when I was in a very different headspace that I am today. .
If you've never had anxiety, you probably don't fully understand it. The best way I can describe it is that anxiety is a heaviness. If you carry a 5 pound weight for 5 minutes, that's easy. If you carry it all day long, it gets really, really heavy. .
For me, anxiety is usually a 2 pound weight that I can sometimes set down. But on days like yesterday, it’s a 20 pound weight that I’m holding overhead all day long. .
Even on days when the heaviness of anxiety feels like it's weighing me down, I am SO thankful that I'm now in a place where it's this extreme rarely. I am thankful that I have tools that I can access to help me manage it better. Exercise, sleep, water and human connection are my most valuable tools. .
If your weight gets too heavy, ask a friend to help you hold it. Lean in and lessen the load. ❤️
