I often think back to our first sports class, and thinking: “surely a toddler will be interested in an activity for 4-5 minutes”. I QUICKLY learned this is not the case! I should have known better...having 3 kids of my own!
I doubled the amount of activities in each class that very next week, especially our 18 mth - 2 year class.
Now, our curriculum planning includes a new activity every 2-4 minutes!

PHYSICAL LITERACY AND SELF-REGULATION. I am a huge advocate for physical literacy. It is a great foundation for body awareness, confidence, self-motivation and understanding of physical skills. In the winter, children are often not getting as much physical activity and tend to spend more time in front of screens and doing sedentary activities. This can lead to a winter slump where we see decreased motivation, adverse behaviours and poor emotional regulation. It is super important in the winter to find ways to keep our kids active, outside time is great but it doesn't have to be outside - head to the pool or the climbing gym or sign up for gymnastics or dance. But active outside time in the winter is so beneficial. If you are finding your child is struggling emotionally right now or seems to be in a slump, try and get outside and have some family time this weekend - skating, skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, snowboarding or just going for a walk. I feel confident you will see a difference after!
Children as young as 3 years old are welcome to experience the Tennis Star Academy program. It’s never too early to get into the routine of learning the skills of sport, movement and physical activity!
Nu har vi äntligen ett bra svar på vad vi gör på träningarna med MovementKollektivet! Det här är en liten inblick i en del av allt vi gör. Men det bästa sättet för att förstå är att själv komma och uppleva det på plats!
