It doesn’t matter where you go as long as you are with those that you love most! Derek and I are spending a long weekend away with the kids in a small town in South Carolina. The warm weather feels great, and is SO good for my soul.
Today’s run was tough throwing myself into the heat. 35 minute ladder workout of a 5 minute easy warm up, and keeping an 8:59 pace for 3, 4, 5, 4 and 3 minutes with 2 minutes easy in between, followed by a 2 minute cool down. It felt great to be in shorts again!
Do you feel like you can’t “let up” on your training or nutrition plan as a health/fitness professional because you are afraid people won’t see you as an expert in your field unless you “look the part”??
If you are an athlete, a coach, a doctor, a nutritionist, etc, you have probably at some point felt like you HAD to look a certain way & act a certain way in order for people to hire you for your services. It’s an insane amount of pressure, and that pressure can take all the fun out of food & fitness.
So what do you do when you’re burnt out from eating “super clean” all the time, working out 3 hours a day to maintain your physique, or missing out on time with friends/family because you have to prioritize training, tracking macros, & recovery so that you can continue doing those things?! How can you confidently continue your career in health & fitness even if you desperately want to let go of training like a professional athlete do that people take you seriously??
Here are a few helpful reminders if you’re feeling that strong push to keep up your routine that’s secretly making you miserable.
✨If someone only values your services because of the way you look, they aren’t worth your energy and they won’t be your ideal client anyways.
✨If you are too preoccupied with your own training/nutrition & it’s consuming all of your thoughts, habits, & energy, you won’t be able to give your BEST service to your clients or coworkers. You’ll be too immersed in your own routine.
✨Shifting your priorities from your own fitness to the success of your clients DOES NOT water down your vast wealth of knowledge and the value you bring to your clients. Your expertise comes from a culmination of all your experience & learning - neither of which will go away if you back off on training & ease up on your strict diet.
You are SO much more than your physical body, and you have an insane amount of value to offer the world, regardless of how much you train & how healthy you eat. The more you are willing to let go of the pressure to be as strict as a professional athlete, the more you will allow your expertise & brilliance to shine 💫
Tough busy day for Ash, loosing his first match but 3 pins to finish the day👌🏽, have to put every effort in and push through tomorrow’s first match.. Wrestling parent is stressful🙈😱
