  • How do you like your oranges in the morning? I like mine with a kiss! 🍊😘 I’ve kind of fallen in love with the traditional Moroccan breakfast so much that I’ve actually started having it at home! My favourite part has to be the pancakes of course 🥞 Over the years I have seen so many people having breakfast in this dreamy pool at @leriadyasmine so I knew if I ever visited I would have to tick it off my bucket list 🌴 I’m happy to report that it was just as beautiful (and delicious) in reality as it was in all the photographs, but the pool was sneakily very cold 🥶 Luckily you can’t see my goosebumps! What’s your favourite breakfast food? 🍓 #missjordantravels

  • Light Up My Life ✨ One of my favourite things about the souks in Marrakesh has to be the huge array of beautiful lamps! Had I had a bigger suitcase I definitely would have tried to bring one home 😍 Also I look pretty calm here but I was actually trying to pose while actively dodging oncoming traffic 😂

Now, I wanted to be completely honest with you all about my experiences in Marrakesh, because despite everything I show you, the reality can be very different from the picture perfect insta spots that I end up sharing with you. Visiting Marrakesh, especially the Medina, is very much a culture shock, but I can’t say I wasn’t expecting this. I visited fully prepared to experience what I knew would be a very different culture to my own and it’s one of the main reasons I love to travel. In fact, I actually found it quite exciting to be wandering around the bustling souks and marketplaces, dodging motorbikes and feeling a little bit like I was in an Indiana Jones movie. However it was also very polluted and there were times after walking through the town that I actually had trouble breathing. But the biggest thing for me was the treatment of animals. There are monkeys on leashes being paraded around for tourists and an abundance of stray cats. At one point I witnessed a tiny kitten being grabbed by a man and dragged away to god knows where, all I could hear was it’s cries. It got to a point where I was so overwhelmed that I actually broke down in tears in the street. For me, it was just too much. If you do visit Marrakesh you will see all the beautiful spots but you also have to be prepared to see some things that may shock you. I can’t fault all of the places I share with you on here, because they truly were beautiful and I’m glad I got to experience them for myself, but I also wouldn’t want to give a false impression that everywhere we visited was glamorous and wonderful ❤️
