40 CRP 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and many others injured when terrorists targeted a convoy with a car bomb at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday, in what is the worst attack ever on security personnel in the state. Reports suggested that the vehicle used by the terrorists was a Mahindra Scorpio carrying more than 350 kg of explosives.
The injured have been moved to the army base hospital in Srinagar, 20 km from the attack site. Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Home Ministry sources said that terrorists triggered the car bomb while 78 vehicles with over 2,500 CRPF men were on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The stretch on which the incident occurred had been sanitized earlier in the morning, and authorities have termed it as a "serious breach" of security.
Photographs showed charred remains of vehicles and human body parts littered across the highway, alongside blue military buses. Official sources said that the attack was carried out by one Adil Ahmad Dar alias "Waqas Commando". A resident of Kakapora, he had joined the terror outfit last year.
The Home Ministry termed the Pulwama terror attack as a "possible suicide attack". Condemning the attack, the government in a strongly-worded statement, demanded that "Pakistan stopped supporting terrorists and terror groups operating from their territory." The centre also appealed to the "international community to support the proposal to list terrorists, including Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief Masood Azhar, as a designated terrorist under the 1267 Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council." Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that the sacrifices will not go in vain. "The attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama is despicable. I strongly condemn this dastardly attack. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of the brave martyrs. May the injured recover quickly," he said.
Lastnights restaraunt of choice was Mowgli in the Corn Exchange in #Manchester . Mowgli for those who don’t know is an Indian street food restaraunt specialising in tapas style dishes where customers are encouraged to share! That being said we ordered a lot lastnight but I think we ordered just enough. (In total we ordered 9 dishes and 4 sides of rice and roti) First up was the Chat Bombs and Puri! For me The Chat bombs are something that I think everyone who goes to #Mowgli should deffo try, they are filled with yogurt and burst in your mouth and are a fabulous way to start your meal! The general feeling round the table was that they deserved an 8/10! The Bhel Puri for me was one of my least favourite dishes of the evening, it’s almost like a posh Bombay mix not spicy, but full of flavour but the portion size was very good, I rated it 6/10.
After that was the wings, which received mixed reviews, they were sweeter than we had imagined and covered in sesame seeds, possibly too many for our liking. We rated these 7/10. The favourite dish of the night was the gunpowder chicken, the sauce used is amazing & the chicken was very tender, these received a 9/10 from the table & we were fighting over the final
Then it was onto the curry section of the evening. We opted for the Goan Fish Curry, House Lamb Curry, Picnic Potato Curry, Mowgli House Keema and the Butter Chicken. My least favourite was the picnic potato curry, it was extremely fragrant and I really didn’t enjoy the flavour of this dish which I was gutted about, on the whole my favourite was the House Lamb Curry, the lamb was slow cooked to perfection and fell apart when you ate it & received from me a 10/10! The rest of the table however voted the fish curry as their favourite, for my pallet this was too tangy but the fish was cooked to perfection & was a firm favourite for everyone else! The keema dish was nice but didn’t blow me away & the Butter Chicken is what I would describe as a safe option but it was very nice! I would deffo say check it out if your in MCR and let me know what you think! #food#foodblog#blogger#foody#foodbloggers#bloggerlife#manchesterfood#manchesterfoodblogger#tasty#foods
