Plaza de Toros de Valencia is a bullring in València, Spain, built between 1850 and 1859 in the Neoclassical style, and inspired by civil Roman architecture such as the Colosseum in Rome or the Arena of Nîmes (France)

Located in the commercial heart of València, Plaza de Toros with its 48-side polygonal shape and 384 external arches is an indisputable point of reference in the city. It measures more than 52 m (171 ft) in diameter and 18 m (59 ft) high, and is one of the biggest bullrings in Spain.

With its construction begins one of the golden age
of bullfighting in the city, when the love of the bullfights was extraordinary.

Throughout time the bullring has gone through a war, becoming a prison and concentration camp for prisoners; a fire in 1946 that destroyed half of the bullring and a flood in 1957, which was the largest one that the Turia River had and caused the city of Valencia a change forever. To become the building we know today, it took three renovations, the last in 2010. It has three floors and an outside diameter of 108 m (354 ft)

A tour of Plaza de Toros de Valencia provides an insight into the history of Valencian bullfighting and an in-depth look at the building itself and its facilities. The Museo Taurino (Bullfighting Museum) inside, which was founded in 1929, is one of the first of its kind in Spain, featuring a comprehensive collection of matador costumes, trophies, and other artifacts that span almost three centuries of Spain’s bullfighting history.
