Many visitors to Saint Paul Island focus on the birds, but the island is also an amazing place to observe Northern Fur Seals. What do you think, is this animal beautiful or awkward looking? I think beautiful.
This chin strap penguin must have known I was trying to make him look like a super hero with the mountains in the background. Since these guys are small you pretty much have to lay down on the ground to get an eye level shot. However, there is penguin guano plastered on every inch of land and if you lay down it will definitely seep into your clothes. Pro tip, when traveling to Antarctica it's a good idea to bring a small tarp or garbage bag to give you a barrier when kneeling or laying down on the ground. That way you get the shot without smelling like penguin guano.
