Perfect USDA Prime porterhouse, very delicious pistachio crusted lamb rack, stunning carabineros prawn, and DANG good tomato based ariso pasta with seafood - cooked by the man himself. I always admire @jjantono's raw talent and the fact that he always sticks to what's good rather than what looks pretty in Instagram. . The wines that accompanied the food were no less than epic. A Leroy bourgougne 1999 that people guessed as a 1er cru 2010-2013 vosne 😂, a Pommard that smelled like human excrement at first yet was beautiful on the palate, a Sassicaia that's actually drinking amazing, and a La Romanee that lived up to its pedigree with its lush, sweet, spiced palate, that lasts forever.   • A master class of the enlightened Côte de Beaune with Armand Heitz of Domaine Heitz-Lochardet today with our trade professional friends. Powerful exposition on gentle expressive wines we have come to love. We have been with @armandheitz since his debut vintage 2013. Today we walked down memory lane with the prettiest of Pommard trifecta — Clos des Poutures Monopole, Pezerolles and Rugiens — as well as Volnay Taillepieds, Meursault En La Barre and two vintages of Meursault 1er Perrières. We’re salivating just recounting the wines. All showing so superbly. Bravo!

  • 2016 Heitz-Lochardet Meursault "En la Barre" hits the nose and palate so direct, with lemon curd, ample citric freshness and a dollop of luscious creamy oak. The balance is all there, on the slender side of medium weight, and with plus intensity, it shows nice saline and mineral impressions throughout, with good complex spice. This is everything you want in a Meursault Lieux Dit, and probably more. #meursault #heitzlochardet

  • Har sett Heitz-Lochardet svisha förbi hos diverse Bourgogne-älskare i flödet. Detta vårt första smakprov har en riktigt fin och i huvudsak mineraldriven nos med våta stenar och musseskal tillsammans med ljusa örter, mörk citrusfrukt och snygg touch av fat. I gommen ung men ändå bjussig med bra balans, inga vassa kanter, något dämpade syror (årgången?) och bra längd med stenigt salt avslut. Hög nivå, ger absolut mersmak! Och Lilla Ego: Tror det var 5 år sedan sist och detta lever upp till hypen. Hummer, röding, torsk, blåbär - grymt bra rakt igenom.   • 2015 Domaine #heitzlochardet #meursault #lesgruyaches 🍷 I've had a bit of a run on fine wines in the past week and this one is no exception. This #excellentwine has Lovely flavoured white peaches and nectarines on entry, leading you to a silky, creamy texture, with herbal nuances plus some minerals and vanilla oak. It has well rounded overall flavours, but also has a good balance of acidity that provides lovely length and freshness, making it a delight to drink 🍷 The vineyards of Heitz-Lochardet began their life in 1857 when it was owned by the Nie-Vantey family who were large land owners. Post phylloxera many vineyards were sold and Georges Lochardet gained many top vineyards in the Cote de Beaune. Two generations later and Brigitte Lochardet ended up with 5ha as her share. She married Christian Heitz and for 25 years she contracted her organically farmed vineyard to Maison Joseph Drouhin. 🍷 Armand Heitz completed his oenology studies in 2011, and he started to work on his mothers vineyards, converting them to full biodynamic practices. Armand has been guided by Ludovic Pierrot who spent 8 years at Burgundies largest land holders Domaine Leflaive and together they have planned the production of wines by Heitz-Lochardet. There were 5 wines released under the Domaine in 2013, then 8 in 2014 and two more were added in 2015. Vineyards are located in Chassagne-Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, Meursault, Pommard and Volnay. 🍷 Meursault is a village in the Cote de Beaune of Burgundy which is located south of the town of Beaune and Chardonnay is the dominant variety here. There is a cluster of villages in close vicinity surrounding Meursault which include famous names like Puligny-Montrachet (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir), Pommard (only Pinot Noir), Volnay (only Pinot Noir) and Monthelie (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir). 🍷 #frenchwine #whiteburgundy #chardonnay #lenckdrankchardonnay #lenckdrankwhiteburgundy

  • A pair of Meursault Perrières from sunny vintages and they couldn’t be more different. Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey’s 2009 was a bit slow witted, monolithic and ultimately lacking definition tonight. A bit much on the toffee and butter, but not enough verve. The Heitz’ 2015 was splendid. Its palate saturating finish induced your salivary gland to go into an overdrive. Stony, sappy and soft all at once, yet never wanting in energy, all amplified by the chalky residue that leaves your mouth quivering. The wine marks a glorious sophomore by this savvy/sensitive young vigneron in a vintage not particularly perfect for white Burgundy — but you’d never be able to tell! A unanimous favourite if the hastily emptied bottle was any indication.
