On Monday nights I have a hard time getting myself to Zumba.
Most Mondays my excuses are stronger than my motivation.
-Class is later & I get up super early for work.
-It’s dark out early & it makes me tired earlier.
I’ve gone on numerous dates the past month, & traveled a couple times. Therefore have rarely been home to cook a healthy meal. I make healthier choices when eating out, but it’s not the same.
I can’t tell you the last time I stepped on a scale, but what I can tell you is this past weekend I started to notice how much weight I’ve gained by how crappy I feel in my body.
So I started with healthy choices tonight. I got rid of food in my house (from hosting company) that bloats me up & got my butt to the gym. Afterall, Zumba is my happy place. That should be motivation enough on Mondays.
Today, my motivation to feel good in my body was the first, baby step/choice I made.
Remember, everyday is day one. Everyday you get to choose what you do/how you fuel your body. If you’re not happy, take it one healthy choice at a time.

This is not extremely difficult but it definitely wasn’t on my agenda for today. This is exactly why I did it. As soon as I thought of it I didn’t want to do it because I knew it would cause discomfort. Happy Monday everyone💞Hope everyone had a great weekend ✨ I took the weekend to rest because I was out of town visiting friends but it felt great! Excited to get back to my routine and focus on my goals! What did you guys do over the long weekend?
Through the years I have ALWAYS been an “I’ll start Monday” type girl. I would eat like crap the whole weekend using that excuse that once Monday came around I would change my ways and get back on track. This soon turned into a vicious cycle of striving for perfection Monday-Thursday and then completely losing control Friday-Sunday. Which then turned into “it’s taco Tuesday, a few beers and some tacos won’t hurt” and “Sure I’ll come over for wine Wednesday, I’ll just have wine for dinner to save some calories.” I didn’t realize how unhealthy this was and how much I taking step backwards from my goals. Working out when you “feel like it” is not what will set you apart and push you forward. Eating right (or not eating at all) on Mondays after a weekend of bingeing is not a quick fix. Staying disciplined comes from small choices made every day that, combined, change everything. So, as much as I would like to sit on my fanny with popcorn and watch the Bachelor tonight, I am forcing myself to stay committed and you can find me at @the12movement •
Took a hiatus from the gram for a bit. Partially because life got hella busy but mostly because I've been focusing a lot on my training. For those of you who don't know, I'm less than 6 weeks out from my first figure competition. I've kept it on the DL because it's something I wanted to achieve on my own without the opinions from others however it's something I've wanted to try for a long time. With a few months off before PA school and the constant motivation and encouragement from @kyle.wilkes and @t_thick_ I couldn't pass up the opportunity. This experience has been one for the books so here we are💪🏼
My training plan? Run. And then run some more. Run up hills and run down them. Run slow, sometimes, run fast. Once I've done that, run a bit more. Then? Repeat. 🔹️ Oh, and hang and swing from things and try to carry heavy stuff around when you can. 🔸️ #keepitsimple

Day one of my new 20 min workout ✅
That wasn’t easy! I couldn’t coordinate myself and I’m pretty sure I did half of the moves backwards... but I kept going and I finished. I did it. +The kids wouldn’t go down for a nap and I was not a stellar mom in the process 🙈😑 +I’m sick with cough and congestion. My lungs were on 🔥 +I had surgery 12 days ago to remove my gallbladder and I was freaking out the whole time just waiting for pain that never came... +my sweet tooth needs to be pulled today and there’s a bag of chocolate chips I’m ignoring
I could have rested, everyone would have understood, even encouraged me to. I could eat a whole pan of “healthier” brownies. And I was less than a stellar mom 🙈 trying to get Both kids to sleep who are temporarily sharing a room. But I learned Grit and Grace. Working out gives me a chance to shake out my frustrations and start over. People are counting on me so I need to be held accountable and I need to do it even when no one is watching.
I am looking for more people to help. People who are tired of having low energy. People who want to look in the mirror and learn to love themselves. People who just want to eat right, or get started working out. Even someone who wants to up their game and go for the challenge!
