Liam Searle has continued his recent run of success this weekend, here's a few words from the man himself!
Winter has carried on its good form for me, after scrapping the night due to it being Valentine’s Day, I still managed to get down after work to top up the spot with the intention of arriving first thing the next morning.
This turned out to be a good shout, resulting in 4 takes. The first come within 10mins of having the rod out! A nice mid double, followed by a banging dark old 26lb Common, then shortly followed by another low double and ending with an absoloute pristine 17lb Common! All within a few hours or so! Packed up and in the van by just after 1. This has by far been my most prolific winter, and feel like I’m getting very close to my target 30+ common. All taken over a bed of Monster Tigers, Himilayan Rock Salt and boilie.
Top angling Liam! 🎣🎣 #commoncarp#carpfishing#carppic#carplife#carpporn#tigers#himilayanrocksalt#carpangler#teammonster
Team Member Matt Charlesworth has been making the most of these mild temperatures, here's a few words from the man himself!
After stopping off at the petrol station to stock up on the days snacking essentials and meet up with a friend, we left early to get set up before first light. On arrival to the lake we found the track blocked off by 2 foot of fast flowing water! Not good! 30 minutes and many prods with a landing net handle later we decided it was a no go. Determined to still wet a line we searched google for local lakes and stumbled upon a little gem only 10 minutes drive away. A new venue and fresh challenge especially for this time of year!
A quick walk of the lake and a chat to the owner seen us set up in a double swim with plenty of features to go at. The hours and coffees ticked by without any signs of fish to be seen! We continued to dot the rods around and kept up a steady flow of Hemp & Maize in the hope of tempting one from its winter slumber!
With half an hour to go all of our hard work and perseverance paid off when the left hand rod fished tight to the island screamed off! This immaculate Mirror in all its winter colours! The perfect end to a testing day!
