Today, we celebrated Forest Thanksgiving with our T/Th friends. We shared a lovely fire cooked meal and remembered what we are grateful for. Breaking bread together is one of the most ancient forms of expressing human connection and friendship. At Woodsong, we intentionally sit around a table that allows each child to look into one another's eyes- a reflection of common worth and equal human value. Every child belongs and is worthy of being a part of our community. This is an important piece of our school culture- to foster a welcoming place for children to be their most authentic selves.
Woodsong parents joined us to share music, play in the forest, and make fantastic leaf crowns. We are truly grateful to belong to a school community like this!
What a fun class gathered for a full house of ravioli-making last night. There’s a special magic when people of diverse backgrounds gather over a common connection— food. For me, it means the joy and delight of shared life and laughter and interesting people who come as students and leave as friends. Thank you so much. 🙏💕
And we are here in Texas!! Early, early trip to the airport yesterday (think 2:30a alarm). Coffee was mandatory once we got through security. Great flight for a quick nap.... And notice our traveling companion chicken in Jill’s hand. Short adventure in Austin before we headed to Belton. Very cool buildings and sight to see. And finally, Mother Earth News Fair!! Quick set up, early to bed....and we are meeting and greeting some amazing women this morning!!
#powerofshe + @leo_lesh was in FULL force this morning!
Lots of love came together to pull this epic event off! 25 bikes from @pedalsouthpas rolled into @athleta Pasadena Friday night to get ready to rock and roll early this morning! We started on the bike, transitioned slowly to our yoga mats and closed the event with a final breath together.
Thank you @athleta_la for trusting me with your space today! Your crew were top notch especially @sissydre who helped me handle the details! BIG love to @cindy5970 lady boss of PEDAL who just said “yes” we’ll make it work. Mark and Leo who helped get the bikes here and out on time.... man, you boys made us look pretty slick! Thank YOU! To all the Pedal Coaches who graciously gave up their class today to allow the bikes to be on loan for this event. You know I’ve got big love for YOU. Thank YOU! And finally our sponsors who were amazing: @charliescoffeehouse@eatsnowmonkey@core! And last, but not least... ALL OF YOU who woke up early to come ride and yoga with me! I’m SO damn grateful for YOU ❤️.
One heck of an epic event closed! This is exactly what community IS about! ❤️🧘🏻♀️🚴🏻♂️🥰☺️😘💕. Thank YOU again!
Comuna 13 in Medellín uses street art and hip hop to engage the #community.🦜 For a long time, the most dangerous place in the world. A few years back, awarded the most innovative city because of the community transformation. 🙌 Medellín has a complex history yet hope grows. I'm humble and inspired. 🙏 #artmatters#Colombia
We are so proud of our scholarship students who are in vocational training studies to set out and have a career. This is the time of year at the closure of the term in which they are testing their thesis and turning in their findings. Each student has dedicated this school year so that their project can grow and bear fruit. In the case of Mary Rose, the crops are literally being harvested, however other students have different projects in all departments. #project#thesis#biodiversity#plantingmethods#farmingtechniques#buildingcommunity
Moms & Mimosas was a hit. 💕
There’s something about women doing life together that makes my heart so, so happy! Hope you’ll be here next month!!

Can we talk about fear of failure?
I'm getting ready to launch a new venture and to be honest with you, I'm definitely feeling fear of failure and all that negative self talk that comes along with starting something new.
Today, I invite you to embrace fear of failure. What in your life have you been avoiding? Is it leaving your corporate job and starting your own business? or how about speaking up at work and standing up for your worth?
Whatever it may be, embrace fear of failure. Embrace fear of the unknown. We only live life once, you might as well give it your all and know at the end of your life, you've done your best 🙏
There's a famous quote by Oliver Wendall Holmes.
Many people die with their music still in them. Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it time runs out.
Live life to the fullest 💙 Give it your best shot!

Solaire, like many of our trainees this year, is from the Democratic Republic of Congo. She’s also the daughter of our recent graduate, Sifa. Her family, along with their entire village, fled a devastating war in the DRC with help of the UNHCR (United Nations High Commission on Refugees). Solaire was 6 years old when her family arrived at a refugee camp in Uganda. Her memories of the camp included working at a small store selling clothes and always contributing to the family.
Solaire is now 18 and a junior at the local high school. It strikes us how open and trusting and eager she is. She’s still learning English, keen to do well at school, and equally determined to work. Solaire sought out our training because she’s determined to get a job while attending school. This is so she can help to pay the rent and bills for their family.
“My own sheep will hear my voice and I know each one, and they will follow me.” -John 10:27
If you believe in Jesus, you have His Holy Spirit and ability to hear His voice. Hearing His voice is a gift (1 Cor 12:8)! It allows us to be lead by Him: “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, ‘This is the way you should go,’ whether to the right or to the left (Isaiah 30:21).” XXXX
During worship at church a few weeks ago, I looked at the woman standing next to me and couldn’t stop thinking “she wants prayer.” I acknowledged that the Holy Spirit will often speak to us in that way: through our thoughts, those that are Biblical and come from a place of love. I did not want to interrupt her time worshipping the Lord, so I prayed for an opportunity and told the Father that I wanted to partner with Him in blessing her. By the end of service, I asked her her name and asked if I could tell her what I had been thinking. I told her that I kept thinking that she has been wanting prayer and that the Lord wanted to bless her. She began to cry. She was going through a divorce. I got to pray for her and bless her, and I am so thankful to have gotten to be a part of what the Lord wanted to do in her life.
These moments are available to us often. The Holy Spirit is patient with us to show us how to hear His voice. What is important is to know God’s character by studying it in His Word. He will not speak to you anything that does not line up with His character. Should you give generously to that person if you have the means to do so? Yes! Should you pray for someone in need? Absolutely! Should you offer your time to those in need when you have time to give? Yeah, that’s probably a Holy Spirit prompting. Pursuing His voice is not something we HAVE to do, it is something we GET to do. It is an invitation to partner with God in His loving and Holy purposes. You get to be used by Him today. Be encouraged and open to His invitation!
