Meet Graham Edwards... a 61 year old gentleman who has been our client @genesispersonaltrainers since the 19th of November 2018. Graham was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 15 years ago which eventually developed into the secondary progressive stage. Having worked all his life first in Accountancy and then as a Taxi driver he had to give up his job due to his illness. Graham is greatly affected by his condition which affects mainly his right side causing a profound loss of strength and coordination, affecting his eyesight and having a immense impact on his balance.
As a consequence over the years his ability and confidence to be active and exercise gradually diminished and he gained weight.
When Graham approached us his goals were clearly defined. He needed to lose weight.... to fit into his suit again.
But beyond this very commendable ambition we recognised a strong indefatigable desire to take charge of his health again, to not let his illness dictate what he can and can’t do, to regain his confidence again!
We started off with a very basic 3 day program that included the most basic and gentle full body exercises followed by a small amount of cardio. Graham’s first workouts rarely lasted longer than 20-30mins depending on how he felt.
After 2 months we assessed his progress and upon Graham’s request increased his training frequency to 4 days per week with a greater focus on isolateral movements to address the loss of strength in Graham’s right side.
In 3 months Graham has lost an incredible 16lbs!
It is an absolute pleasure to work with you, Mr Edwards... you are an inspiration to all of us!!

Tilt your bum up, keep your chest out and focus on contracting your lats(keep your arm locked in position, and focus on "swinging" your elbow back to your hips👑 🏆
