Another day. Another berg to to take my breath away❄️Heading back towards civilisation and starting to connect back with the world after a long research voyage makes me appreciate being disconnected from it all these last couple of months. Being onboard a 23m sail boat with a small and intimate team of incredible whale scientists where we felt like the last people on earth makes this trip all the more magical. 🇦🇶 Seeing the power and fragility of Antarctica has gotten under my skin and is something to behold. I am so grateful to have travelled to the end of the world and visited this last untouched wilderness. ❄️ •

Even if you feel you’ve walked all over Antarctica, climbed every mountain, and said hello to every possible penguin, there’s still another whole world to explore – the water. Hop in a kayak and let’s go! #kayaking#antarctica#bucketlist#travel

Sunday funday. Now that’s my kind of beach.
We sat here for hours watching penguins come in and out of the water. They wobble, stumble and often fall when crossing the rocky beach. Their short legs have trouble reaching to the larger rocks, forcing them to hop around. But when they are in the water, they transform into acrobats. Darting and jumping from the water, they seem much more dolphin than bird.
Seals on ice and spyhopping orcas. This behavior is common among cetaceans; it allows them to get a better look at their surroundings and view potential prey above water. These orcas eventually moved on, leaving the seals to see another day.

So.. Antarctica was incredible
The pictures don’t do this place justice and I cannot put into words the time I’ve had. Just incredible untouched beauty.
Getting to see Gentoo, Adelie and Chinstrap penguins - as well as Leopard, Fur and Crabeater seals in their natural environment was something else.
Getting to see Humpback and Minke was 😍
And getting to see a pack on 20 Killer Whales hunting penguins literally 100 metres from the boat was something special.
These are the first 10 images from over a 1,000 so there will be lots more to come as I take in just what I’ve seen!
